As of June 9th the Wall Street Journal has announced that the new Frozen overlay to the previous EPCOT ride Maelstrom will be named Frozen Ever After.
You read it right, an overlay. No change will be made to the ride track itself (completely debunking the rumors of a trackless ride vehicle) and the ride will be the exact same except for the sets, which will include audio animatronics with the same effects as the 7DMT.
The ride itself tries to not retell the story of Frozen (which I am sure most people are familiar with) but instead tries to immerse guests on the ride in the movie Frozen.
The crown jewel of the ride will supposedly be the balcony scene from Frozen where Elsa belts out the song Let It Go, but other ride scenes will show all of the main characters from Frozen such as Anna, Kristoff, Grandpappy Troll, Sven, and everyone's favorite snoman: Olaf.
It is still unknown when the four minute ride will be open to the public but the big question is, is it going to be the big E-Ticket ride EPCOT needs, or only a means of stalling before EPCOT starts looking for a more permanent E-Ticket like ride.
